THE GIRLS NEED YOUR HELP

Apart from the hostel accommodation which the Young Women's Christian Association has for' many years been operating, there is a far greater work this institution strives to carry out, and this is the fostering of the spirit of companionship and fellowship between girls. The Y.W.C.A. makes absolutely no distinction between its members. Whether tho girls are employed in factories, shops, offices or are independent, such conditions do not alter their privileges or standing in any way wlmisoever. This splendid principle creates a warm social feeling between all clnssus of girls, drawing them closer togewer and breaking down that sense of 5u*,,,.iority and pride that sometimes eiiste in the outer world. Instead of having nothing to-do with her evenings, a girl can attend-most interesting and instructive classes on various feminine subjects; she can join in a happy literary circle, sho can keep herself healthy and well by undergoing the physical culture courso in the gymnasium, or should sho prefer not to take an active part in any of the pastimes mentioned, she has tho rest and club rooms where she can chat with her fel-low-members, or read and write, uudisturbed by anyone. Every aim of the Y.W.C.A. is to increase (lie comfort and happiness of our girls. At present a public appeal is being made for the sum of .£15,000, which-, is urgently needed by the Y.W.C.A. to extend its activities in Wellington. Tt is felt that every man and women will clearly seo that an unsectarian institution which means increased comfort, happiness, and joy to the girls of all positions in life, is worthy of strong and continuous support, and that everyone should respond quickly and generously to the call of the Y.W.C.A. Send your donations to-day! The treasurer is Mr. A. D. Bnyfeild, Box 1071, Wellington, to whom subscript ions m . lv | )e Kon (, —(Published by arrangement.)
