PAYMENT FOB TIME LOST. In regard to the recent epidemic, Mr. J. P. Luke, M.P. 1 , communicated with the Hon. W. H. Herrie»;- Mimster of Railways, and asked him to pay those employees of tl)e railway who iVere olf duty *iii connection with the epidemic. Mr. Luke has Tcceived the following reply from Mi'. E. W. M'Villy, General Manager for Railways:— . "Further to my. letter of March 24 last in replv to yours of January 28 to. the Hon. the Minister of Railways, I have the honour to inform you that it has now been decided thai employees of tho Railway Department who were absent from their duties during the ill' fluenza epidemic for the purpose of nursing their own families or others, or acting as voluntary workers, will receive full pay for the time lost."
