Peart nimbly picked tho leather up and passed to" SPKay, who smartly cheeked the Blues' chance of scoring. PONEKE (8) V. ORIENTAL (0). The' Poneke-Oriental senior match was 'pkyec! at Kilbirnie in the presence'of a fair crowd of spectators. Ftom this onward tho game continued in and around midficld. At halftime poiieko were leading 5 to nil. . In the second half the game became very willing—Oriental ovemlling, in fact —'out Poneke, try as hard as they would, could not pierco the Oriental defence. Just on.the call of tiitfe, however, Troy, ft'o.ii a loose scramble, got across. Malin failed with tho kick. Poneko thus ran our winners by 8 points to nil. Mr. G. Wale was referee. •ATHLETIC (62) V. Junior Games, There was a large attendance at the Hult Recreation Ground, to witness the ■ match between Berhampore and Hutt •juniors,, and the spectators woro rewarded by a game which was full of interest right from tho start. Soon after the commencement, Routley scored for Hutt, but (iriorson failed to convert. A spell ot bright play followed, and after a scramble near tho line, Cirierson scored, but did not convert his try. Half-time was called shortly afterwards,"with tho score: Hutt,' C; Berhampove 0. The second spell was mostly in favour of Berhamnore, and it was not long before they opened their score by a penalty goal, Kicked by Walters. Just on the call of time, Hickman scored under the posts, but ,an easy shot was missed, leaving the final score a draw—Hutt, G; Berhampore, G.
