ART EXHIBITION
' An exhibition of painting, which marks another milestone in tho development of art in Now Zealand, is now open to public view in the Paterson Art Gallery,' at the premises of M'Gregor Wright and Co. The collection offered for salo represents the work of several Wellington artists— A. F. Nicoll, Nugent Welch, I). G. Hood, W. Tiller, A. Bender, F. Sedgwick, and J. M'Donald—examples of whose talent have always been a feature of art exhibitions throughout the Dominion. In Iho genesis and development, of a New Zealand school of painting these artists are taking a prbminent part, and in the products of their skill now on exhibition there is shown an intelligence in selection of subject and charm of arrangement which should mako instant appeal to the picture-lover. Freedom of handling and delicacy of treatment, as well as strength and restraint, are the characteristic features of the works of this small band. The exhibition is open to the public free of charge, and all the works ore offered for sale.
