QUEENSLAND GOVERNMENT CRITICISED. London, July 25. At tho meeting of the Australian Estates Company, Mr. Williamson, chairmail, vigorously replied to Mr. Theodore's Tecent attack on the chairmen of pastoral companies in the Queensland Press. 110 said that Queensland' 6 real enemies were the statesmen who wanted to break State coi'tracts. He al6o commented strongly on tho action of Mr. Hieeins. chairman of 'the Melbourne Wool Committee, in persisting in the attempt to force on the wool-growers the extension of the State control of wool for five yetrs after June,' 1920. He also protested against-Mr. Higgins holding back cables from the company's manager in Australia to the head office. This was a flagrant and intolerable abuse of temporary war-time powers in a mattor only dealing with the future in times of peaco—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn.
