Tho Rumanians ore confident of their utility to repel tho Hungarian offensive. On the contrary, an Italian report states that the Hungarians have broken through, and that the Rumanians are retiring rapidly to the, eastward.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.

(Rec. July 2S, 0.10 a.m.) Paris, July 2fl. The ''Petit Parisieu" says that tho Hungarian Bolsheviki have t captured many Rumauian guns. The Rumanians are rallying against an attempt to overwhelm them before Entente assistance arrives, but large Rumanian forces are scattered over vast fronts in Bessarabia und Bukovina owing to /tho -necessity of resisting tho Russian Bolsheviki.—Aus.N.Z.
