HARBOUR FERRY SERVICE
BOARD OF CONTROL SUGGESTED. A special general meeting of membera of the Day's Hay Ratepayers' Association was held on Wednesday evening in tuo pavilion. A motion was passed expressing the association's willingness to discuss with tho Eastbourne borough and the city of Wellington the advisability of procuring legislation providing for tlio constitution of a board to own and control the harbour ferry service, such board to consist of representatives from Eastbourne, the city, and that portion of the Hutt county served by the ferry service, the hoard to have power to levy a special rare upon.the districts represented as security ior such loan aa may be necessary to pay for the existing boats taken over and for any new boats it may be decidod to purchase.
