REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES CANCELLED

A THIRD ROUND TO BE PLAYED The, weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union was held last evening, when there were present Mr. AY. 11. It was decided to write to Mr. J. P. Pirth, asking if it wculd be possible for the Wellington College junior (cam to play, the Hutt fifteen at Hutt in a special match, the funds to go towards Hie cost of the Hutt gymmisium. From Auckland came, word of the in-, tention of that union to play the five amended rules, contrary lo all rulings against, them:- The following wn= proposed by Mr. Millard, seconded-by Mr. Griffiths, and carried: "That the Auckland Rugby l.'ootball Union be earnestly implored to reconsider its decision to play all the amended rules, mid in Hie interest, of the game of Rugby football to adhere to the authority of the-New Zealand Rwrfcy Football Uni<y;." Regarding the representative games, Mr. Perry moved nnd Mr. Preiuleville seconded: "That a leam lie sent soiith to plav Otaeo, Soulh Canterbury, and Canterbury." Mr. Buck moved the follflwins amendment: "That Canterbury be plnved in home-and-home matches, .and that a[ third round in Hie senior cliainnionMnp be played." This ivis seconded by Mr. Griffith') mul carried. Regarding the third round of the championship, the four leading teams at tho end of the second round are to participate.
