RACE RIOTS IN AMERICA
GANGS OF ARMED NEGROES IN WASHINGTON.

Washington, July 21. Two negroes have been killed and many injured M race riots. Gangs of armed negroes attacked the tramways throughout the city, and cavalrymen, infantrymen, and police have been called out.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.

The shooting occurred a short distance from White House, where the President is lying ill. The streets in all parts of the city are patrolled by fully-armed soldiers. Some whites were injured.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
