The death is announced at Arbroath of Captain James Eaton. He was recently awarded the D.S.C. for his gallant defence while commanding the steamer Island Molir. The vessel was attacked by a German submarine when bound for Malta with coail. After putting up a heroic fight for two hours the steamer was sunk. Many of the crew were killed, and Captain Eaton was taken prisoner.
