This (Friday) evening, the postmen s department (entrance Featherston fetrcet, first Iloor) will be open from,7 to 8 o clock for delivery of' correspondence addressed to streets in the city and suburbs. To-morrow (Saturday) July 19, tho Postal Department ■will be closed in all its branches. Mails for dispatch ljy steamers will closo at ■ 8 a.m. on that day, and the only dispatches of correspondence by trains will closo as follow :-For Wairarapa. ITawko's Bay, Manawatu, Kangitikei, Wanganui. Taranaki districts at midnight on Friday July 18. (These mails will include spondenco cleared from the street receivers at midnight that night.) Mails' for Auokland and Auckland district will close on Saturday at 8 a.m. The city and suburban street receivers will not bo cleared during the day, but night clearances -will bo mado as usual. A.
