4 Vice-Regal. A Press Association message from Suva states that the Governor-General (the Tla'vl of Liverpool) aiul his party left by the Tutanekai for Auckland at six o'clock yesterday morning. Sir James Allen leaves to-nitjht for Dunediu, where he will spend the peaco holidays, returning to Wellington early next week. The Hon. W. D. S. Mac Donald leaves to-day for Gisborne. The Hon. G. W. Enssell is at Timaru to-day, attending a conference of South Island local bodies. He will spend the peace days in Christchurch, returnin? to Wellington on Tuesday. A public farewell was tendered to th,e Rev. F. H, Petrie, M.A., nnd Mrs. Petrie in Moore's Hall. .Tohnsonville. on Monday evening, when there was a large Catherine of residents. On the platform were, the churchwardens and ths chairman of the Johnsoivyillc Town Board. Speeches were made by Mr. F. Belhune and Mr. F. T. Moore, and a cheque and c«sh amounting to .£4O were presented to Mr. nnd Mrs. Petrie nnd a gold brooch to their daughter,' Miss Molly Petrie, Mr. Frank Luke, youngest son of the 'Mayor (Mr. J. Sclbv has been appointed secretary of the Commercial Travellers' and Warehousemen's Association. Jlr. Relbv has recently returned from the front. Mr. T. W. Butcher is leaving on a business visit to Great Britain, via Australia. He will be accompanied by lire. Butcher. Mr. IT. M. Gore is retiring, after eight years' service, from the oiiieo of president of the Now Zealand Academy of Fine Arts. A number of artist members have, requested Mr. T. Beauchamp, general manager of Kodak (Aus.tinlt\sin) Limited, returned to Wellington yesterday. Dr, Randall Woodhousc, who Ims been appointed Medical Superintendent of the Wellington Hospital, will commcncc his duties 011 July 23. He returned to tho .Dominion by tho Tahiti recently, after seeing considerable war service", being awarded the Military Cross and a bar. as well as tho D.S.O. Of the three sons of the Rev. Dr. Pinfold, of Wellington South, who went to (he front, two have returned, one of whom, Captain F. 1). Pinfold, has been retained tor professional duties at the Auckland Military Hospital. Tho eldest who went away as 2nd lieutenant, C. M. Pinfold, is still in England, where recently at Windsor Castle he was presented to Their Majesties the King nnd Queen. i
