"THE PINK LADY." Another successful performance of "The Pink Lady" was given before a crowded house at Hie Grand Opera House last night. The season closed last evening. Tho members of the company leave for Sydney by tho Kigoma to-day. "THE DANDTES" AND THE KENNEDY COMI'ANI. The linking up of two such artistic combinations as . Mr. Edward Dranscombo'a well-known entertainers, ' Ihe Dandies," with the Kennedy Company, should prove a strong magnet in attracting amusement seekers to the Town Hall Concert Chamber this evening. The programme to 1)0 presented consist of musical numbers from beginning to end. But tho nature of tlio music will vary considerably and will range from concerto for violin and piano and excerpts from grand opera to samples of the latest successes in revue. Comedians with humorous songs will add a leaven to the numbers submitted by the vocalists of each party who essay the more serious order of 'things. Each company comes with tho hall mark of success and appreciation from various cities, and it is said that so different are the programmes given by tho respective companies that, they present items satisfying _to all tastes. The plans are at tho Bristol. MONDAY'S MATINEE AT HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. A big attraction announced for tho Peace Day holiday on Monday next is tho monster matinee which will bo held at His Majesty's Theatre in aid of the funds of tho Mothers' Help Division, Women's National Reserve. Tho matinee will embrace no fewer than half a dozen distinct entertainments. Messrs. Fuller have granted tho frco use of His Majesty's Theatre and tho services of their Vaudeville Company, which will present specially selected acts. Others who have generously consented to appear are the Dandies Concert Company, the Kennedy Concert Company, Mrs. Hannah and Miss Campbell's superb "Midsummer Night's Dream" Company, 3liss Beere's clever artists, and the "Charley's Aunt" Company will stage two delightful playlets. It is doubtful whether such an array of varied talent lias ever appeared before a Wellington audience. Tickets are now obtainable at the Bristol, but after 5 p.m. on Friday they will be on sale at Burnett's Sweet Shop, next to His Majesty's Theatre. The prices will be 35., 25., and Is., with no -halfprice. An extra charge of Gd. will be mado for booking. There will bo no amusement tax. Owing to the lengthy nature of the programme the performance will start at 2.15 o'clock. COMPLIMENTARY CONCERT. One of the "never fails'' in connection with patriotic concerts held during the Avar period was 3[r, Len. Barnes, Wellington's popular baritone, who himself was in khaki when the whistle blew on November 11 laqt. Now that .Mr. Barnes has decided to ascertain by personal inspection what America is like, his musical friends have decided to rally round and give him a send-off in the form of a complimentary concert, which will take place at tho 'big Town Hall on Thursday evening of next week. Those assisting will include 3liss Teresa M'Enroe, Jliss Ann 3 Sullivan, Miss Maud Bletsoe-Buckeridge, Jliss Thurza Rogers; Mm,' B. Green (late of Duuedin), Signor Lucien Cesaroni, Mr. Martin DulT, 3fr. Harold Whittle, Mr. Herbert F. Wood, J[r. Albert Russell, Mr. W. W. Crawford, and, of course, Mr. Len. Barnes. One of tho specialty numbers will be the beautiful duet "Now, Mark J[e," in which Miss Teresa 3['Enroe and Mr, Barnes made such a deep impression in "II Trovatore" recently. Seals may be reserved at tho Bristol from Monday next.
