SOUTHERN MARKETS
EARLY SPRING EXPECTED. '- ■ By Telegraph—Prrss Association. Christchurch, July 15. ■uThe-weather during the last few days lias lieeri mild and springlike, and the general, opinion is that the. spring' will be-an early one. Since the late snow arid rain' there has been almost an abBejico. of frost and anturan-sown grain crops have made good growth. There is no change of note in the grain and seed markets and there is not quite as keen an inquiry for ssed lines now that tho weather has sGt in fine again. Potatoes are firmer, there being a good inquiry from Wellington, but there is little shipping available for Auckland. Tho market price now offered to growers at country stations is £1 10s. Onions are now worth <£11 at country stations.
