Johnston pointe<l out the difficulty of moving stud stock for breeding purposes by train. , , •'lt was stated that several lota ot stud stock which had been sold could not Do . got away, as the railway would not carry anything less than' a full truck loadThis was acting detrimentally to the sals pf stud stock, bulls mora especially. A resolution wa.s passed that the matter bo brought to the notice uf the Minister of Railways, and Mr. Lancaster ■was asked to lay the resolution beforo tho General Manager of Railways. Messrs. W. F. Durward and G. Hnggett, representing the Kennel Glub, asked tho association to reinstate tho dog show on Its schedule, and this was agreed to. The Marton and Marlborough Associations .wrote, stating that they proposed improving their show grounds, and as ~ thev recognised Piilmerston North a? the leading show grounds in tho North Is- , land, they asked to bo supplied, with particulars and plans of the grounds and buildings. It was decided to render every assistslice in the direction desired. Mr. 11. Gillies announced that Mr. J. Bull, junr., of Hunterville. had stated , liis intention of presenting the association with 50 guineas ns n prize in tho champion open hunters' class. It was also stated thnt Mr. C. A. J. Levett 'had donated a perpetual challenge ciip, valued at 50 guineas, for the champion Hereford bull.
