A TEASHOP SURPRISE
—, —♦ CAKES INCREASED IN PRICE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, July H.. Something in the nature of a bombshell was sprung on the teashops in the city this morning, when notification was received from the master bakers that'an increase in tho price of small goods, such as cakes, shortbread, and other little luxuries had been decided on, and would take effect from to-day. Tho increase in some eases amounts to 50 per cent, on the former price. Cat's, for instance, that were formerly retailed at Is. per dozen will now be Is. 4-d. dozen. The master bakers state that the increase was long overdue.
