The Wairarapa 'Farmers' Co-operative Assn., Ltd., report having held their weekly sale at Carterton on July 11, when they offered a good yarding of sheep and a small yarding of cattle to a very fair attendance. The vendor had built un a very choice little lino of grade Jersey cattle, consequently fanciers of this breed attended in>.strong numbers. Bidding proved exceptionally brisk throughout, the high average of £23 Is. 6d. resulting. Best cows' made i£2o to £33; others. £16 to £18 10s.; choice 2-year-old in calf heifers, £15; weaner heifers, £3 155.: pedigree Jersey bull, 36gus.; farm horses, £16 10s. and £28. At Stony EiYer, on July 8, there was a, full yarding of cattle, including dairy herds on account of Mr. D. M'Eldowney and Messrs. Gill and Baxendale, al6o a very choice line of two-year-old Jersey heifers on account of Mr. Charles Wells. ' Jersey fanciers, attended in big numbers, resulting in the high average of £20 10s. being obtained for Mr. Ji'lilaowney's'herd, including empty and unsound cows. Mr. Wells's heifers also met with keen competition, duality and condition proving the predominating features throughout the lino, the 48 averaging over £15. In the dry stock portion of tho yards all classes met with keen demand. These realised in lines £15 10s. to £20 10s.; others brought £10 to £15 10s. Messrs. Gill and Baxendale's herd mode: Best conditioned and early sorts £12 to £16; others, £9 upwards. At Eiverlea, on July 9, a dispersal Balo was held on account of Mrs. Voullaire. Tho cattle were an attractive lot, but showing a lot of ago; .nevertheless a good salo resulted. At Toko, on July 9, a dairy herd was offered on account of Mr. E... M'K Morrison. The cattle were in good condition, and a . good sale resulted.
