SALE OF ABERDEEN ANGUS CATTLE

Aberdeen • Angus' cattle wa6 held- yesterday under' the auspices of the New Zealand Angii6 Cattle Breeders' Association. Owing to the impossibility of shipping to Australia no buyers''were represented from there. Train' transport' was another difficulty, and these .troubles*coming on top of the exceptionally severe season, led pellors ' to anticipate poor prices. They were, however, .agreeably, surprised, competi-: tion for higher 'grade lines being spirited. 'Two of Mr. Carlyon's bulls fetched respectively 260 and 210 guineas, namely, President of Gwnvas, bought by Mr. W. Branson,: Prince Buller of Gwavas, bought by Mr. K. B. Williams. Tlietop ' price paid for a cow was 71 guineas for Gladbrook S.N. 76, a rising two-year-old, bought by Mr. 'W. A. MacParlnne, closely followed by 70 guineas paid for another Gladbrook cow, Poe, Tising five years", bought 'by Mr. T. Ellingham. Out of 104 beasts catalogued, four were withdrawn, 31 passed in, and 69 were sold, realising over _ £1000. Of the 31 passed in, the majority were quitted privately after.' the sale. ,
