RACING AT TRENTHAM FIELDS FOR TEE THIRD DAY.
- [By Glencob.]
Splendid acceptances have.been received for to-day's races, and the fields for a third-day gathering must bo a record. Totalisator patrons will be glad to know that the 10s. totalisator will again he in. tperotion. The good dryiug wind yesterday has had a vory beneikial tll'ect on the going, which should be a lot faster to-day, and more in favour of the lop weights than it was on the two first days. In the Tain vera Hurdles Gang. Awa' and Munstcr are a pair that should run well. The 'first-mentioned seems bnck to form, and the way ho left Merrie \Ud- standing in the Brooklyn Steeples shows his merit. Munstec will be suited by the distance, and so will Wild PilgrimThe first .four', horses, in the Onslow Handicap are sure voire all fancied. The showing'of Form-Up was .queried on the first day, and ho will -lie sure to go better over a. furlong- shorter.. Astinome has been specially reserved for (his: race, as has Madam Ri-stori, The large'following Grey has may make tho-last-named favourite. > The Hack Steeples may prove a duel between Mnriawapango nnd Signature.- Pro viding tho last-named-can jump the big fences as well as. ho does hurdles 1 he should be equal to defeating ■Mnn.awapungo. Pretty, Bobby is an unlikely starter in tho Crofton Handicap, in which Sacramento should go better, as the track is drying up. Mann was going on at the right end of the To Aro Handicap, nnd Tamo Fox has raced . consistently on both day's of the meeting. The July Steeples will see the placegetters in the Wellington Stecplechaso in action once more, and (he contest between the trio and Troublesome should be a good one. Bon Revo may lie the most improved by tho race. The Final Hurdles will most likelv be a puzzle to backers. Rcwi Poto will bo a much-improved for his race nn the first day, nnd so will Loyal Atcli, who made all the runnin? in the Winter Hurdles, and was responsible for the fast time. PnTaoa is another that. was on hand, all the way on Tuesday,-and if Cynic jumns better ho will also be thero at the right end! ■ •/ ■ ' The very big field in the Winter Oats will be the 'means of restriotin.!? speculation on the machine. Gold Kip, who covered a Hot of ground on Thursday, will again he .well hacked; 60' will Gazioue, ■ Paddington Green, and Pretty Bobby. ■ , ' ■ Canzonet won so easily on Thursday thn't ho has only got to start to have a host of admirers in the concluding event. Tn his absence Tempo, may be the fancy, : - ."
