DISASTROUS FIRE
HEAVY LOSS OF MOTOU-OARS; By Teleeranh-Presa Association. Carterton, July 11. A. disastrous fire occurred last' night. Rughan's garage and Pitcher Brus.' cycle depot being totally destroyed. From indications, tho outburst started in Pitchers', and from there spread lo Hughan's. Tho whole of the stocks of bolh premises were lost, in the garage were thirty ears, seven of which belonged to Mr. Hughan. All were destroyed. The fire was discovered ut 1.10 by tho occupants of a molor lorrv returning from Martinborough, but bolh buildings wero too far gone to save. Hughan's insurances total a little over •£6OO on buildings and slock, and Pitchefs' i'2ooo on the stock. Hughan estimates his loss at between J!:iOCfl and ,£4OOO. .Pitchers' loss is about -C2OOO.
