YOUNG WOMAN'S DEATH
EVIDENCE AT THE INQUEST. The. circumstances surrounding the dijatli of a jjoitng 1 woman named, liable Miller wero investigated by the Coroner, Mi-; AV. G. l?i(ldoll, S.JL, yesterday. The deceased had resided with her aunt in John Street. Chief Detective . Bdddoni conducted the proceedings on behalf of tho police. ,J Dr. W. K. FyfFc, said that as a result of a ■postmortem examination, ho found tliat'deceased, had- dipd from, acute peritonitis and 6eptic poisoning. Louisa Lawrence, married' woman and aunt of tho deceased, said that the deceased had been employed in the city, and.was 22 years-of age. She had been in ill-health and witness had recently ascertained that deceased was suffering from internal pains, but this was thought to bo due to a cold. • Last week the deceased had a miscarriage, and was in bed for a number of days. She appeared to; bo -improving in health, but on Tuesday she became worse and died'before tho doctor arrived. Tho Coroner said that tho evidence showed that when tho doctor was called it was too late. Tho verdict would be that tho deceased died from acute peritonitis and blood poisoning, the result 'of a miscarriage.
