FREE TRAMS FOR LIMBLESS SOLDIERS
' Sir,—l wish to pla:e on record the appreciation of the men who have lost a leg in this war for the. splendid concession granted by the Wellington City Council. We are now allowed to .ride on all the trams free. This is the only place in New Zealand, as far as I am personally aware, where this privilege'is granted, and the soldiers; ~-ncerned are very appreciative and grateful for such a really useful and hospitable net. To the city itself the necessary loss of revenue is not large, but to the disabled man the concession is a very real aud helpful; one. The general public is perhaps rather {oo apt to take a wounded man in civilian clothes as a matter of course, but, Sir, the man who returns to civilian life minus a limb' carries a reminder of the Great War that he ran never for very lon<; forget, be he in the town or country! And we are all more than grateful for such a. courtesy as Ihe city of Wellington has granted us—l' mi, etr.. H.T.M.
