CONSCIENTIOU'S OBJECTORS
'Sir,—There is a phase (if the Government's treatment of religious objectors on which 1 think the public is entitled to some light. At th= beginning of the year the Minister of Defence promised that all, those pronounced by a special board to be genuine K.O.'s should be promptly 'relented, and after many months we are practically told that they should bo content, as they have the advantage of not being included in the Defaulters' List. Many have, been puzzled at this change of front, and have blamed the Keforin influences in ihe Government. I am informed, however, by a. prominent Parliamentarian, that it was Sir James Alleu's intention, as promised, that these imm should be released, but that so-called 'liberals have raised so much opposition.! that action has been suspended. All friends of Keforin imouhl, I think, be made'aware that it is not the so-called Liberals who are first to *ct in every forward movement, and if my information is correct it is not the Reform Ministers who must be, held responsible for a vindictive delav .of justice to these menwhich is only adding further to the seething discontent so obvious Mironghout La'hour ranks, and that'despitc the Ministerial exhortations for co-operation and better understanding between employers and employed.—T am, etc., BOXALD S. BADGER.
