"KA'HNia," TO-NIGHT. The J. C. Williamson Royal Comic Opera Company of over one hundred members, and headed by Miss Florence Young, will play a return season here, commencing this evening at the Grand Opera House. The attraction announced is the brilliant three-act light opera "Katiuka." Since "Katinka" was staged first in Wellington it has been seen in all the chief centres of New Zealand and Australia. It comes back frith all its original good features and many added ones. The drosses are new, and they are even brighter and daintier than the frocks that charmed at the first production. There is much brilliant staging in "Katinka," but the opera does not depend on gay effects alone. It has quality well above the average of musical comedy. it has tuneful, satisfying music, picturesque settings, and a real plot, sufficiently well developed to hold interest on its own account. Tho Hoyal Comic Opera Company includes such sterling artists as Messrs. Reginald Roberts. Leslie Holland. John Ralstou, C. If Bantock, Percy Claridge, Oliver Peacock, John Porde, Robert MacKinnon, and Phil Smith. Misses Gladys Moncrieff. Olivo Godwin, Addio Lennard, Eva Webber, Violet Yorke,. Maie Baird, and Florence Young. "Katiuka" will be played till Tuesday next inclusive, and will be followed by "Mavtime" for two, nights, with "Ohf Oh! Delplune," and "The Pink Lady" for the four final nghts of the season. The box plana aro at the Bristol.

KING'S THEATRE. ■ Commencing at the matinee to-day at the King's Theatre, the World Film picturisation of the famous Drury Lane drama, "Sealed Orders," will De ''produced. The picture version is called ''Stolen Orders,'' and is companion picture to "The Whip." It is described- as being full of snap., and without any padding, and practically a serial condensed into one picture.. The cast, contains some of tho most prominent actors and actresses of to-day, including June Elvidge, Montague Love, Madge Evans. Kiity Gordon, Carlyle Blackwell, and George Macquarrie. The original story is stated to have been brought up to date, and much improved, while the war scenes were taken with the special co-operation of the American and Italian Governments on board battleships and dirigibles, and at the Italian front. Mr. Len Barnes, baritone, will supply vocal items, and tho King's orchestra will render a very fine programmo of incidental music, EMPRESS THEATRE. "Satan in Sydney," to be screened for the lirst time to-day -tit the Empress, created a great stir in Australia. Tho picture tells ii story of a young country girl who was thrown on her own resources, penniless and ignorant. She learned a bitter lesson, and fought her way to success, battling against tno harpies, opium dens, etc., that infest any. great -citv. such as tho Australian metropolis. She learned to know Sydney as a detective knows it. Many people, prior to tho showing of this picture, had no idea that Sydney possessed the means of enticing and entrapping tho innocent and unwary. The picture, it is claimed, woke them up with a sudden shock. The film preaches the fact that ignorance is not innocence, and that .parents have, a duty to their children that is unfortunately only too often neglected through feelings of falso modesty. In addition new vocal numbers will bo rendered byMr. C. Molvin.

Mr. Noel Moukman is the 'cellist; Mr. Kinsley Chapman, tenor and light comedian; Mr. Reim Millar, basso, and Mr. George Livingstone, character coinedwn and dancer. The programme has been well chosen, the principal items being Wagner's famous "Tamihauser" Overture, Avtjr's "Mnsanicllo" Overture, a Fantasia from "Carmen," and a Venetian suite by W. H. Reed. Lighter pieces will be an oboo solo by Mr. R. Kershaw, and Rubinstein's "i'rot tie Cavaleric." Admission will bs by silver' coin collection.
