DEPARTMENTAL GAME, Tho annual match 'between tho State Advances and Lund and Incoino Tax Departments was played .yesterday afternoon lit Athletic Park. The first-mentioned Department had wou all matches played since 1913. The game resulted in a win for Taxes by 21 points lo 17 points, the winning Lacks showing the beat combination. Some of their passing rushes and their handling of the ball generally gavo tho spectators a treat. Early in tho game Cowio scored for Advances, and shortly after had to retire owing to an injury, his absence for the remainder of tlus gamo being keenly felt by the Advances team. For the winners, tries were scored by A'Court (2), Wood, Ambler, Cartwright, and Tull, Ambler converting throe. Cowie, Enjoll.and Wylie scored for tho losers. Morison converted odo try and kicked two goals from the field. An outstanding feature of tho game was the fine kicking of Ambler (Taxes) and Morison (Advances). Mr. T. H. Jones was referee.
