ADDINGTON MARKET
■By Teleerann—Press Association. ••: / Christchurch, July 2. At : A'ddington market' to-day . there frere large yardings of fat sheep and fat ■■ cattle, but entries in other departments were only, moderate. It is oxpected that ' the curtailment of the railway service will affec oiferings in future. Local supplies of fat sheep are now very short, and requirements will.-have to bo filled from a distance, which makes ■ the position more difficult, during a restricted railway■ service. Store sheep-sold at about the same rates as before the snowstorm of last week. 'The market, opened Black, but intimation was given by tho - „ Railway authorities that the evoiiing trains would carry 'as many sheep as they could, and this brightened up the market. A small yarding of fat lambs, which were much above .tho average in quality, sold well. Fat sheep'met with ft keen demand at an advance,of .Is. to '/'3s, per-head. Prices for prime fat cattle were also firmer, the yarding . being made up chiefly of steers. Thero were a few store cattle offered, mostly old cows.' Veal calves 6old well at advanced rates.
