Charged with having obtained 117 credit by fraud, at Oamaru, in May last, nil elderly man named William Robert Hill appeared nt tho Police Court today. The chief-detective, stated that accused wiw arrested on a similar charge on Thursday last, and was then admitted to bail in a bond of ,£3OO. The following day he was arrested on a wav rant issued at Duncdin in 1915, when it was alleged he had committed a similar oft'enco involving tho sum of ,£43. He. was then released under the original bond, when ho was arrested for the third limo yesterday. It was stated that he had the sum of .C2M in his possession. Tho Magistrate, on the application of the chief-detective, remanded accused until Wednesday next, and increased tho amount of bail to Pending tho hearing of the case, accused was ordered to report nightly to tho police.
