ANNUAL CONFERENCE CONCLUDED. The conference of tho New Zealand Federation of Labour \uis continued, in the Trades Hall yesterday. Mr. T.. itlouclwoith, president oi tne lcderation, was in the chair.

The conference discussed the Board of Trade's report on tho coal industry during the morning. .An Otago delegate drew attention to tho fact that owing ro certain exemptions in tho Shops ajid Offices Act, certain places, suoh as commercial offices, where women worked, were not open lo inspection by Government officers. The conference decided to ask tho Government to provide for the inspection of.all places where women were employed.

It was decided to urge that no woman should be called upon to work overtime unless a permit had been secured.

After dealing with some other business, the conference closed.

The recommendations of the conference are to bo presented to the Government by a joint deputation from the Federation of Labour and the New Zealand Labour Party after the conclusion of the Labour Party's annual conference, which is to be opened in Welliug:on to-day.
