Jlr. 11. D. Bennett presided, and was supported by Dr. A. K. Newman, M.P., Mr.. E. A. Wright. M.P., and Colonel A. F. lioberts. An enthusiastic discussion resulted and many suggestions were made for tho more vigorous prosecution! of the campaign. The city and suburban canvassers reported good progress, and a list of donations promised will shortly bo published. From tho remarks of somo of tho speakers it was gathered that there had been much lack of public knowledge regarding the association's work, and that the canvassers had been able to throw considerable light on the numerous excellent services rendered by the Y.W.C.A. among the young women and girls. It was agreed that the effort to raise such a largo tout necessary sum of XIS,ODA cannot bo completed in the allotted time, and the period has therefore been extended. The committee desired to i'mnress upon the general public tho great importance of tho movement, and warmly appealed for the generous support of all citizens until (|in object of the campaign bos been attained.
