BOWLS
A PUZZLING CABLE MESSAGE. • A Press Association cablegram from London, published yesterday, said that tho English Bowling Association had arranged for a Now Zealand team to visit tho United Kingdom. No arrangements have been mnd» officially for a New Zealand (earn of bowlers to visit England, but the council of the New Zealand Association has invited a visit from English bowlers. Tho inossago may liavo arisen through a rink of Ne\< Zealand players intimating to tho English Association their intention of visiting England, lmt that is extremely unlikely, as Ihe orthodox way of gaining oliieial recognition would ho to make arrangement through tho Xsew Zealand Association by anplying tor recognition. Another possible interpretation is that New Zealand is to ho visited bv a team of English bowlers (in responso to (he invitation forwarded six months ago), and tho cable mcssago has been twisted ;n transmission.
