HOROWHENUA A. AND P. ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL MEETING. .By Tolegraph—Spccial Correspondent. Palmerston North, July 1. At the annual meeting of the Horowhomia A. and P. Association, the president, Mr. J. Tally, in reviewing the past year, pointed the necessity of raising the member's subscription, as the finances showed that they must increase their income. He did not favour reducing their prize money, but- compared with the Woodvillo Association Hit* Horowhenua was much behind in the nmount received in members' subscriptions, as well as in donations. Woodvilie, however, had a £1 subscription against their 10s. one. Mr. A. M'Learey considered tho time had arrived when the association should consider the holding of a two days' show, and lie moved that tho incoming committee set up a sub-committee to go into tho matter and report. Mr. 11. V. Brown supported tho motion, and said he knew of numbers of exhibitors who would bring stock here if there were a two days' show, but would not do so tor one day. The motion was carried. Office-bearers were elected as follow:— Patron, Mr. W. H. Field, M.P.; president, Mt. S. A. Broadbelt; \iec-nresidents, Messrs. ,T. Kebbell, B. Ling. W. H. Simcox, W. Tomsitt. W. J. Ilowell. .T. H. Murray,' P. A. Gillies, and J. M'Lenre.v. A general committee, comprising 33 members, was also set up. The subscription was increased to .£l.
