■ NOTES. The election of Mr. A. E. Wells to a vacant position on tho Management Com. mittee of the association is a matter for congratulation, as ho is. one of ffie best known enthusiasts of. the game in tho city. For several years ho was the. chairman of the association, but business ties kept him from standing for re-elec-tion to the committee when tho last annual meeting came round, and that he has again been able to accept the noniina. tion offered him will be a cause for satis, faction to those who nro aware of his worth in tho Association world. The fact that Colin Reid, contre-half of the Thistle Club, has been advised by his doctor to abstain from further football will be a cause for regret to all enthusiasts who have -watched this fine player throughout the season. At present he Is the best centre-half in tho city, and his loss -will be severely felt when the representative games come, round. However, he may not bo entirely lost to tho association, as he and Pain Frickloton (V.C.) intend to give a lecture to players on various points of the game. If he could bo persuaded to act as to budding players he would do them an immense amount of good. In tho absence of Mr. B. L. Salmon, who left for England last Saturday, Mr. T. M'Laren is acting as secretary of the New Zealand Football Association. Mr. M'Laren is one of the delegates appointed by Auckland to look after their interests oil the body concerned. S. FVickleton, Y.C., of the This' Club, and A.'P.M. in the Defence Department, has received notice of his transfer to Uhristchurch. /
