A'gathering of "old folks" at once interesting and unique was held in con-nection-with llie Val .Trigga mission, which is being held in Donald Jl'Lean Street Church,/-Newtown. The devotions were' conducted 'by Kev. Dr. Pinfold, ' and Rev. Val. Trigge gave an ' address from the text, "At eventide it shall bo light." Prizes were offered for being the oldest person present, which went to a lady over 60 years of age. Also for the ones, that had been longest in Wellington nnd in the Dominion, etc. Afternoon tea was dispensed by the elder ladies of the congregation. Tho proprietary of the London "Daily Telegraph ' has offered to supply tho Free Public Library with that paper free of cost. The City Council lias instructed tiie Town Clerk to writo expressing the oouueil's thanks for the offer.
