' TURKISH DELEGATES IN PARIS A NOTE TO THE COUNCIL OF TEN. Paris, June 17 (delayed). The Turks met the Council of Ten and presented a Note outlining their views. The Note declared that the Sultan and the Turkish people were not responsible for the war, which was due to the Revolutionary Party getting control. The delegation hoped that the Empire would not be ■ dismem'bered or treated drastically. Turkey _ was now economically ruined, and Asia Jlinor. was a desert. They objected to the Greek occupation of Smyrna,—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. THE COUNCIL'S REPLY. (Rec. June 29, 5.5 p.m.) Paris, June 27. _ The Council of Ten, replying to the Turks, said that there was no case in which the establishment of Turkish rule in any country had not been followed by a diminution of prosperity. Wherever the Turk had conquered he had destroyed, and shown incapacity to govern. The Allies could not allotv him to rule over alien races.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
