OPENING OF PARLIAMENT
ABOUT MIDDLE OF AUGUST.
A paragraph which appeared in. The Dominion on Saturday was misleading in oonveying the .impression as it did that Parliament was likely to meet on July ii\ In actual fact the "date for the meeting of Parliament bas not yet been fixed, and probably will not be fixed until Mr. Massey and Sir Joseph Ward have come back; It is impossible for the House to meet earlier than the middle of August. It has been known for a lons time that I Parliament would meet in August, but the expectation has been that the meeting would be earlier in the month than / the 24th. Parliament now standi prorogued until July 24, but before that date, it will ba further prorogued, probably to the date fixed definitely for ths meeting of the two-Homes.
