MASTERTON POULTRY SHOW

There was a large number of entries, and I'lio quality of the exhibits was good. . Wei*, i Jington 'exhibitors-.were particularly successful;' W."Davey„cafrying off- the championship in Rhode Island Reds, G. E. ' ' i'earn'in Hamburg:) and Japanese Bantams,' and E.'. Saunders,' of Petone, the championship in cananes. H. Stubbs won tho cup outright for! the best heavy; ■bird, in 'the utility-class, also the special, prize for the best utility Black Orping-. ton. G: 'AVebster won tlie special for' best utility White Leghorn, also' tho special for best bird in the utility classes. J. Perrett swept'tho pool in working homers, and carried off the spccial prize. Mrs. Lowe was. also successful in homers. R. M'Whirter, of Petono, won the first prize for Rhode Island Red cockerel (fancy); H. J. Caldwell (Masterton) won the championship in Silver Wyandotte* (litility); A. E. Collins (Woodvilic) the championship in Black Magpie pigeons; arid O. Anderson (Parkvale) for best liirtt in the fancy classes. .Of the local exhibi- ' tore, H. M. Boddington (utility Black Orpingtons), H. J. Caldwell (utility and fancy Silver Wyandottes), B. P. L. Clayson and James Walker (White Leghorns, utility), A. H. Newman and J. Sear; : (Hamburgs) were successful. R. Bly (Woodville) carried oft' the special for'tho best White Leghorn (fancy).
