Sir James Allen has received the following letter .iro'ui Sir Henry Wilson (Chief of the Imperial General Suilf):— "1 am very grateful for yoi|r letter of February h, ionvarding the most interesting statement regarding, the prpvisiou and maintenance of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, a most able ami. clear document, upon which your Chief ot Stall is to he congratulated. From liie point of view of tne General Stair here, what most strikes the eye is the rendineis with which -New Zealand responded-.to all demands made by the Imperial Government, and the thoroughness with which all the arrangements in conneclion with the Expeditionary Force >vcro carried out. It is clear that this would not liavo been possible but for the forward 6latc, prior to 1914, of .your preparations lor organisation in ease of Ar. Preparation ami co-operation have been tho two watchwords of success in this war, and I am glad to say that wo have always found them,, not only on the lips, but in the hearts of tho Kew' Zealand troops.— (Signed) Henry Wilson."
