Dr. N. Prior, who recently returned from Eng'land, is delivering a series of lectures'to the members, of the men's division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade in Masterton on hospital and home nursing, with particular reference to the influenza epidemic.

A meeting convened by the Pcatherston f School Committee for the purpose of considering the proposed formation of a school committee association for tho South AVairarapa, was held in the GroytowiiHigh School on Tuesday night. The following delegates were present:—Messrs. J. M. Nicholls, C-. Moore. A. C. Biggs (Carterton). A. AVilton, A. Tyler (Martinbproiu'h), H. AVnldcn, E. Anker, L. Rowse (Greytown). Rev. R. 11. Catherwood. Major B. ,T. Stone (Featherston), ,T. AV. M'lveown, J. AY. Henderson (South 'Featherston), R. Johnston (Cross Creek), A. B. Pnge (Kaiwniwai). W. M. Jury (Ponatahi), E. A. Grey, nnd B. Roberts (Parkvale). The Rev. Mr. Cafherwood was voted to the chair. An apology .for absence owing to illness was received from Mr. A. C. Holms. Delegates generally regretted his absence, as the mover in tho proposal. After the chairman had briefly outlined the objects of the association, Mr. Henderson proposed:. "That an association ho formed, to be called the South AVairarapa School Committees' Association." This was seconded bv Mr. Anker, and carried unnni rnously. Mr. Walden proposed Mr. Holms president, and this was carried. The, Rev. Mr. Catherwnod was- elected vice-president, and Air. J. W. Henderson treasurer-secretary; executivo committee, Messrs. J. Nicholls (Carterton), A. Wilton (Martinborough). H. Wnklen (Grcvtownj. B. J.. Stone (Featherston), W. At. Jury fPonntahi), H. Daysh (Dyerville), H. Tilyard (Kaiwniwai). and a lireytown rural member to be appointed later. The foregointr officers wore elected in accordance with a constitution drafted bv Mr. Holms, nnd unanimously approved. It was decided that a full, report of the meeting be issued to all ; -Thool cummittees in the area involved. A general discussion cook place on various problems incidental to the objects of the association, including ward representation disabilities owing to the !)0 schools only being entitled to two members on the board. A Parliamentary delegation is to be appointed later.
