FOR H.M.S. NEW ZEALAND'S VISIT. As president of the local branch of tho Navy League, t'ho Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) stated yesterday that nn effort was being made to raisii a fund of »£lood for the entertainment and recreation of Lord Jellicoe, and the ollicore and crew of H.il.S. New Zealand • whilst they are in Wellington. In order to make the contributions as equal as. possible, the .league intended to ask firms and companies to contribute flic sum of i'2s, and individuals £5 to the fund. On those lines, and with the deeds of the Navy in tie late war fresli in tho memory, lie thought there should be little difficulty in raising the amount mentioned. Tho City Council had already agreed to contribute £25.
