Mr. W. Dunn, secretary to the Pnblic School Teachers' Superannuation Board, has been promoted to the position of accountant to tho Education Department.
Mr. D. E, Leslie, who has been first assistant at the Mastcrton District High School for the,past seven years, and who is also director of the Masterton Technical School, has been appointed headmaster of the Wellington Terrace School, •in succession to Mr. G. MacMorra-n. Mr. Leslie has previously served under tliuHawke's Bay and Marlborbugh Education Boards.
Mr. Harold Beetham (Wairarapa), who left with one of the reinforcements some tune ago, has received his discharge in England, aud was expecting to leave on hie return to New Zeatand on June 20, travelling via Canada.

Mr. E. W. Shanahnn, formerly of Auckland, has recently presented his thesis in the London University in Economic Geography and Agricultural .Economies. This has been accepted by the Senate as qualifying him. for the D.Sc. Economics. The thesis, which is to be' published in London shortly, is to bo entitled "The Production and Consumption of Animal Foodstuffs, with a Special Deference to the British. Empire."
