'Griffifth's giant masterpiece, "Hearts of the U'orid,' will be screened at the iviJig's Theatre, by arrangement with J. C. \TiltTamsou, Ltd., nil next week, oommendng at the matinee on Saturday. Jn yesterday's issue a challenge was is- j Rued to Professor Barraden. Thie was the outcome of a telegram that Professor Barraden had sent from Dunedin to New Zealand "T-nith," stating that as he had been alluded \o by a correspondent as a fake hypnotist he would bo prepared to give an entertainment in Wellinzton, the committee to consist of local business men. Should Professor Barraden succeed in .hypnotising the majority of these men he. was to tnke the proceeds of the night—should he fail to do this the Returned Soldiers' Association to Ret the receipts. This challenge has been accepted by Mr. J. Carr, who suggested that he should bring his own class of subjects for Professor Barraden to work with. Professor Barraden has agreed to this, and the test is to take place in the big Town Hall on. Saturday night next-at 8 o'clock. Should the Professor fail to hypnotise the majority of this class the whole receipts are to be taken by Mr. Carr, and handed to the Returned Soldiers' Association.
