FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE NEEDED. ' Br Telecrarili.—Prm Association. Christchurch, .Tune 23. A deputation from tlje executive of tlie Royal- Life-Saving Society interviewed the Hon. G. W. Russell, and requested financial assistance from the Government. Mr. Russell said that apart from ,- the Government grant and tlie grant from the Swimming Association, the society had no source of revenue, and it would bo ft good idea if tho operations of tlio two organisations were consolidated, so that the Government could deal with one body and one grant. He was prepared to recommend a pound for pound subsidy to bring the revenue of the society up to ,£250.
