AUSTRALIAN IMPORTATIONS
Sir,—For years we havo been making special importations from Australiashearers, slaughtermen, miners, agitators, organised, stump orators,' windbags. Surely we have received enough, and some of them havo done enough mischief. But I see by your paper that tlito Government have decided to make a fresh importation of two or tliree bundred miners. No doubt the Australian Government will be glad to send uft a selection of their undesirables. If we were in our right senses, instead of inviting a further consignment, I think that we would bo doing well for New Zealand if we returned a shipload or two of tliis class to'their country of origin. If Australians conie over to work, of .course they would be welcome, but instead of coming to work, many of them come to teach us how much better things are dono in Australia, but not to work, how to go slow. They look upon us as fair game, as n simple lot of people, which' we are. They come to'organise and teach our tradesmen the advantages of soviets, and how easy it would be to help themselves to the coal minf-s and industries of the country. Many of this das? of men are being imported by the Labour Partymen with nilv tongues and innocent appearance. When tliey have succeeded jn making New Zealand a second Russia, perhaps we will wake up.—l am. etc., A NEW. ZEALANDER. P.-S.—Under the Government's scheme, the labour extremists will be able to get over the men .they want, without 'being at the expense of paying their passage money. Good business.—A N.Z.
