* . \ CONFERENCE POSTPONED. A conference of members of the New Zealand Coal Mine Owners' Association, called for to-morrow, has been postponed to a dale to lie fixed. Probably it will be held next week. Several matters of importance-will be considered by this'conference, including the report of the Board of Trade 011 the coal industry, and the continued friction at the mines. . Some time ago the association' called the attention of the Miners' Federation to tlio frequent stoppages of work at the mines, in violation of the existing agreement, and asked that the agreement should bo observed by the miners. The agreement provides that thrre-shall be 110 stoppages, and thai: all disputes shall be referred to dispute? committees. It is understood .that the Miners' Federation lias not replied to this communication, beyond acknowledging its rcenipt. ■ and further breaches of tho agreement have siii.ee taken place.
