PRICES OF WOOLLEN GOODS
NO PROSPECTS OF EAELY .REDUCTION. London, Juno 17. It is considered in trado circles that there aro no early prospects of reduction in tho price 3of high-class wools. Tho demand for good worsted is i:ndiminished, and the better-paid wage earners refuse poorer goods. The supply of raw material exceeds tho best anticipations, but the machinery is inadequate to produce the ibetter-dass goods at the rate demanded. The trade expects a large export business after.peace. Continental manufacturers are still far behind the British, and the British stocks of raw material probably aro moro than sufficient for the homo trade, but it is unlikely that the price of manufactured goods will appreciably' decline for some time, even if the price o£ wool falls, owim? to the continued riee of wages and the heavy taxation—Aus.-N.Z.
