MR. MASSEY AND THE PEACE TREATY
9 ASKED TO STAY FOR FINAL SCENE. Bγ TelecraßJi—Prene Association. 1 Christchurch, June 21. The following is the text of a. letter, dated June 9, from Mr. Lloyd George to Mr. Massey asking Mr. Jlassey to remain in England for' the signing of peace:— "I earnestly hope it will not be necessary for you to return to New Zealand before wo have arrived at a final settlement with the Germans. I know how difficult it is for you to remain afray, and how strong is the claim of the New Zealand people that you should return as soon as possible, but I attach the utmost import anco to the final decision with regard i to peace with the Germans being taken with the full authority of tho representatives of the whole Empire. There may be, in fact probably will be, 6ome very important decisions which will have to bo taken before peace is finally signed and (Sealed, and in these I am most anxious to have your counsel and 6upport.— (Signed) i>.
