Very little interest hns been taken in "clean up" week in Masterton, and the borough officials are disappointed at the response to their appeal. ' . The A\'airarapa Patriotic Association, Defence Department, and Health Department 'subscribed about ,£12,000 between them for the erection of a military win;; at the Masterton Hospital for the accommodation of wounded eoldiers. The whig is expected to be completed by October next, when it is not anticipated that any soldiers will require treatment.
The school committees in tlio South Wairarapa liavo been invited _ to assemble in the Greytown District High School on Tuesday next at 8 p.m. for the purpose of forming a school committees! association.
