ABERDEEN ANGUS BREEDERS
MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION. (By Telegraph—Special Reporter.) Palmerston North, Juno 19. Tho general meeting of the New Zealand Aberdeen Angus Breeders? Association to-day was presided over by Mr. H. 8.. Williams, of Gisborne. Six new anembcrs were elected, making a membership of 73. Tho financial position was very satisfactory, a credit balance of nearly ,£IOO being disclosed. After considerable discussion it was resolved that it bo a recommendation to the council to amend the conditions ot entry by extending the iinal day for the registration of tho produce of herds to September 31 of the second year after calving. July 31 was fixed as tho final date for the registration of produce born during the preceding twelve months. A,deputation from the Breeders' Club waited on tho meeting in support of their application for financial assistance.' The matter was referred to the council, with power to act. Mr. P. A. Price, of Hawke's Bay, brought up the question of tho ear-mark-ing as against the fire-branding of cows, and he strongly advocated that it should ba optional for breeders to adopt this method of branding their beasts. He moved accordingly, but the motion was rejected. « Tho question of the issue of pedigree certificates was discussed, and' it was resolved that in future in the event of a sale tho vendor should hand to the buyex the transfer certificate duly signed by him, this to bo also signed by the purchaser and forwarded by him to tho aiisociation, who would then issue a pedigree certificate.
