Factory Managers' Association was held on Wednesday* evening, the president, Mr. C. J. Parinne, of- Frankton Junction, being in -, the,chair..... ' ..TJie.v annual report and balance-sheet were adopted: An important amendment,in the con-, ''.' etitution of the association was adopted by the carrying of the following motion, : notice of which .had been given by Mr. .■: T. H. Downs, of Northern Wairoa: ."That the association be voluntarily j wound up in accordance with the Incor- ': porated Societies Act, 1908, and that all i; books, property, and assets be handed to ; Mr. A. M. SDirling, as agent for the '.• . promoters of tho body to be named the 'New .Zealand Dairy Factory Managers' ;'■ Association, in order to allow the asso/ [.. ciation to be reorganised."
- The effect of this new arrangement is that in future tho business of the association will be conducted by provincial executives, answerable to the Dominion Executive.' . ~ ~.
The proposed new rules were read, and after slight amendment were adopted.
Officers for the ensiling' year were elected'as follow':—Dominion president; Mr. C. J. Pnrlane; Dominion secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. M. Stirling (Pukekohe); auditor, Mr. W. B. Bendall (Paimerston North); provincial presidents: Auckland—Mri C. J. Parlane; M<mawatu. Mr. J. G. Ward (Rata); Bush District. Mr.- D. Kelly (Konini); Hawke's Bay; -Mr.-- A. E. Fletcher (Dannevirke); Taranaki, Mr. 13. H. Heevo (Mangatoki);, Wairarapa, Mr. W. M'Keown (Feather-' ston)'; South Island, Mr. J. Middleton (Canterbury-Central). It-was decided that the next annual meeting should be held at'the Waikato Show, at Hamilton. . Several remits were received relative t) the establishment of a school of dairy Instruction for managers. The suggestion wa"s. unanimously supported, and a recommendation to the Dairy Division was carried that such an institution be-estab-lished at Runkura for two months durIne'each winter. 'Other resolutions carried included the' following:—"That it be a recommendation to the "Dominion Executive to further'the adoption of a standard cheese vat -with o. workinq capacity of not more than.Boo gallons." • . . Mr. J. Murray, an cx-president,' offered « gold medal for a now class for competition among managers, and this was accepted with thanks. .
