'iho report stated thiit dairying products wore never in greater demand. Owing to tho shortage of fcod and I lie serious decrease in numbers or cattle in many countries, good prices seemed ussured for years to come, and the 'ndustry was daily growing of more imIjortance. Seventy-one cows had been listed during the year, which showed a decrease in comparison with the previous year. The ■cause was scarcity ot labour and the abnormal conditions'on accpunt ot tliu war. i'nesians were in great demand in British countries, and in America some sensational prices wero obtained for individual cattle. There was a good demand from, Australia, but owing •to the want of shipping facilities it was impossible to send cattie from the Do minion. It was recommended that'lho Government be approached with the object of carrying, pedigree stock on the railways at half price, as'in other countries.
